Pottery Class Birthday Parties
Make a birthday to remember by hosting it at The Old George Studio! Bring along your own food, drink and decorations to make it really special, feel free to arrive early to decorate the studio.
In this class we will arrange to make a ceramic pot or mug, we will then break for food, cake and refreshments (supplied by you); then lastly we will decorate the pots before the end of the lesson.
The pottery then needs to go into the kiln to be fired and can be collected within 2 to 3 weeks. We will then wrap each piece and label it with the child’s name.
The price is £20 per child, we can have a maximum of 10 children with a minimum booking of 4 children. The party is for up to a maximum of two hours. These will normally take place on Friday and Saturday afternoons between 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
Ladies night is an evening session where you can make your own pottery in the company of your friends. Feel free to bring a bottle, glasses are provided. You are welcome to arrive early to decorate the studio if the occasion with your friends is of a special nature.
The price is £45 per adult, we can have a maximum of 10 ladies with a minimum booking of 4. The session is up to a maximum of 2 hours, from 7 to 9pm. These will normally take place on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Please note that all work must be fired in the kiln once you have finished and can take up to 2 to 3 weeks to be ready to collect. We will of course notify you when your work is ready to collect.
2 hour pottery experience
A one off 2 hour pottery experience is £45. During this lesson you will get to make a finished decorated dish and a tutorial on throwing pots on the potters wheel. You are also welcome to keep the pots you complete on the wheel. These will all be finished off by myself and then finally glazed for you to collect at a later date, about 3 weeks.
Corporate team building days and art therapeutic groups
These can be organised in The Old George Studio in small groups, alternatively these can be arranged at a location near you. I hope to encourage social interaction and team work. Group art projects compliment any team building programme. We hope that the process is of a therapeutic nature and fun, encouraging a sense of achievement for all involved regardless of abilities.
I have recently completed some pottery therapy sessions with Layston Care home in Buntingford. It was very well received and the residents were really happy with their finished creations. More courses are presently being tailored with Hertfordshire Mind Charity.
Normally these sessions will last around 2 to 3 hours long. A personalised quotation and programme can be tailored to suit your businesses and individual needs. This will include any preparation, event delivery and all materials and tools.
Please note your creations will need to be fired and finished off by Trevor, then returned to you at a later date. We hope that your ceramic creations will be a reminder of a fabulous day with your colleagues.
